Can I mix and match breeds of chicks in my order?

  • Of course you can! You can mix and match breeds to build a diverse flock of beautiful looking birds that produce a variety of egg colours, or you can order all of one breed - it’s your choice!


Is there a minimum order?

  • Yes, the minimum order is two chicks. We will never sell just one chick as they need at least one friend to keep them company!


Do you ship to places other than Vancouver Island?

  • Yes we do - we ship to many places throughout BC and Canada. We ship via air, and the cost of the shipment is covered by the customer. To obtain a shipping quote, please contact us with your estimated order size and airport that you would like your order shipped to. We will contact you with a quote.


What do I do if I end up with a Rooster in my order and I can’t keep him?

  • We do have a “Rooster Return” program in place on the farm - please see our Rooster Return page for more information.


I’ve chosen which chicks I would like - now how do I place my order?

  • For all orders other than Vancouver Island orders, you simply need to fill out the form on our website (Place an Order) with the date you have selected and the number of each type of breed that you would like

  • For Vancouver Island orders, you simply choose the date and breeds that you would like, and then either email or call Jackie Russo directly to place your order. Her information is on our Vancouver Island Orders page.

  • For all orders of more than 25 chicks a non-refundable 50% deposit will be due at the time of booking

  • The balance is due when you pick up your order


OK, I’ve placed my order! I’ve ordered more than 25 chicks, so how do I pay for my deposit?

  • Firstly, we will confirm your order with you and will send you an invoice for the deposit that is due (if you ordered 25 chicks or more).

  • For June Creek Farm orders, you can pay your deposit via e-transfer to lela@junecreekfarm.com

  • For Vancouver Island Orders, you can pay your deposit via e-transfer to jdrusso@shaw.ca


Are the chicks vaccinated?

  • All of the chicks that we bring in are vaccinated for Marek’s Disease. The Marek’s vaccine is a live vaccine and does not prevent the actual infection of the bird - it simply prevents the symptoms of the disease from developing.

  • We do not vaccinate for Coccidiosis - if this is a concern for you, you can choose to feed medicated starter feed as this will build up an immunity in your chicks.


How should I care for my chicks in the first few weeks to ensure that they thrive?


Can I pick up a seafood order when I pick up my chick order?

  • Absolutely! If you would like to add a seafood order to your chick order, please just include it when you fill our our Place an Order form. You can pick both your chicks and your seafood up together.

  • Alternatively, you can order our seafood through our sister-site - www.oceansedgeseafoods.net
